Good Friday Appeal ongoing $3 million regional funding initiative

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, our smallest and sickest children will receive world-class care closer to home.

The Good Friday Appeal, in partnership with The Royal Children’s Hospital, is investing in stronger paediatric care across regional Victoria so children and families can access high-quality care closer to home. Since 2024, more than $8.5 million has been committed to regional health services across Barwon South West, Gippsland, Hume, Grampians and Loddon Mallee, funding vital paediatric equipment, specialist training, scholarships and innovative care programs.

This investment helps build local capability, reduce the need for families to travel long distances for treatment, and ensure every child, no matter where they live, can receive the best possible care.

A key goal of the RCH is to create a truly integrated paediatric service, where health services across Victoria and beyond learn from each other and share expertise and knowledge.

This funding is helping the RCH to achieve just that. This regional funding provides an opportunity for the Good Friday Appeal to acknowledge  regional communities for their incredible fundraising efforts over the years and contribute to the RCH’s goal of a truly integrated paediatric service system.
