Levi’s condition six years after diagnosis
Jordan Ablett has shared new images of her son, Levi, as she gives a moving update on his condition ahead of the 2026 Good Friday Appeal.
Jordan Ablett has shared a heartwarming update on the condition of her precious son Levi.
On the eve of the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, Jordan has shared some new images of her happy and smiling boy.
It was May 2020 when the Abletts received the news of Levi’s diagnosis with Menkes disease.

“He’s doing great,’’ Jordan told the Herald Sun.
“He turned seven at the beginning of the year which I’m still trying to get my head around. It feels like only yesterday that I was holding him in my arms after welcoming him into this world and into our family.
“There haven’t been significant changes and he still requires the same level of care.
“Thankfully though Levi has never lost his big smile and is still showing us how to be present and live in the moment.”

Give to help kids like Levi
The Abletts are still visiting the RCH at times, but keep busy caring for Levi and their two other growing children Grace and Ezra on the surf coast.
“We’re going really well,’’ Jordan said.
“We are definitely very busy but in the best kind of way! We know how fast the years go so are intentional about making sure we slow ourselves down as much as possible and not miss the moments.
“Not (visiting RCH) as often as when he was first diagnosed but he does still have scheduled appointments with his team of specialists.”

Jordan revealed Levi’s condition to the Herald Sun for the first time in May last year to coincide with the release of her moving memoir, One Day at a Time.
Children with Menkes struggle to absorb and transport copper, an essential mineral that our bodies use in many ways, greatly affecting their global development. The serious disorder also leads to a short life expectancy.
An ambassador for the Appeal again, Jordan is encouraging everyone to support the cause.
“Australians have always been amazing at rallying together for people in need — especially when it involves our children,’’ she said.
“We all know and value the role the RCH plays in so many families lives and we deeply care about that! I have no doubt that like every year, we’ll witness the generosity of the Aussie spirit.”
